How It's Going...

some of my latest scribbles and reflections. enjoy.
drop 01 launched in may. t-shirts. simple you might say.
but here’s the truth: i don’t even wear t-shirts that often.
so why should i sell something i don’t even wear?
i thought i’d follow up one month later with drop 02 – quick, easy, clean.
except it wasn’t.
the manufacturer i trusted turned out to greenwash, and not be as honest as he promised.
promises. delays. samples that made zero sense.
every startup founder could relate.
so drop 02 got delayed.
headaches started to hit more often.
& these “new graphic tees” never even happened.
so i took the time it deserved to think about all this.
four months of fabric swatches, of redoing measurements, of wondering was i crazy for even starting this?
and yet – those four months were necessary.
they forced me to step back, to think, and to ask myself: what do i really want to bring into this world?
the answer? something thoughtful.
so, i moved from madrid to lisbon partly because i was too comfortable. i needed the distance, the challenge, the chance to see Hors du Commun with new eyes.
because when you’re building something alone, you’re a thousand percent in it.
your friends, your family, they listen – but they don’t feel the way you do when a supplier ghosts you, or when dhl invoices you more in taxes than your samples are worth.
and still, i wouldn’t trade this for anything.
because each mistake, each challenge, each sleepless night sharpened the vision.
where does this bring us? to something that takes time. a collection that feels lived-in yet new, timeless yet different. more than clothes – a project, a vision, an experience. cause good things take time.
as of today, the pieces are finally taking shape and the entire collection almost ready. in november, we’ll celebrate and present them through our first runway show near lisbon.
without spoiling too much: the location is magical, the vision clear and the ambition unstoppable.
to make this day unforgettable, we’re looking for:
- models (we already have a few, but we need more to bring the full collection alive)
- photographer
- videographer
- drone pilot
- sponsors/partners (brands, startups, creatives – from jewelry to food&beverages to design – if you want visibility, this is your chance)
this event will happen no matter what. but if you join, you’ll be part of something that goes beyond a show – a creative project, a community, and a story worth remembering.
if you’re interested, send your resume and portfolio to info@horsducommunofficiel.com.
or if you know someone who might be interested, feel free to pass it along.
let’s create something beautiful, timeless – and out of the ordinary, together.
